SATAN ATTACKS

Satan Attacks By Mitch DeCanter

Wow! can this be happening?  For the last several days I have been on edge, easy to get excited (even anger).  It seems that since the funeral of one of my uncles I can’t get by blood sugar to settle down.  Physically my doctor or medical team is very excited that I am health wise in very good condition.  Yes that is a blessing, but some discouraging moments have existed in the Faith Hope and Love Ministries.

The Faith Hope and Love Ministries is in the process of teaming in with a new church growth effort.  The first attack on the group was that one young and in discipline became challenged by the behavior of a mature woman.  Yes the woman has been disruptive but I never felt that it was anything to be concerned with.  Humans sometimes show out.  During our last meeting while each and everybody was sharing their concerns and ask for prayer, the preachers wife had very heavy heart concerns for the condition of the united states.  The disruptive lady chooses this to show out again but in a big disruptive way.  During the greeting time, she grabbed my attention and through gritting teeth said “politics has no place in a church meeting”!  Wow! I was shocked and reverted to a skill that I learned many years ago of not reacting or continuing a conversation at that time.   The preacher who was teaching the lesson for that night was able to overcome the shock and did a wonderful job of teaching about relationships.

The disruptive lady through jesters and actions let it be known that she was “Mad”.  She rushed out the door, I followed on her heels, and tried to speak with her.  She turned her back on me and stated again, “Church is no place for talking politics.”  She then rushed off in anger.  All I could do was say a silent prayer for her.

Before anyone jumps on me and supports the woman, which would be OK, you need to know that the preachers wife never talked politics, just her concerns.  The next morning I have coffee with the preacher and his wife because I wanted to insure that they understood that the womens comments did not represent Faith Hope and Love Ministries.  And for your information:   Faith Hope and Love Ministries is not a church, and until we associate with the new church work does not have any denominational ties, but try to follow the Bible Scriptures on worship if a study can be considered worship.

So importantly the preacher has spent the entire night as had I in seeking understand from God.  We both agreed ed that Satan was Attacking because Faith Hope and Love Ministries is in fact touching lives and Satan just does not want to see the work move and grow.

I FOUND THE FOLLOWING ON http://www.godresources.org/blog/0-2/7-2/four-facts-about-Satan-attacks/   I trust the information because it makes sense and much scripture reference is given.

Four Facts about Satan’s Attacks

1. We live on a spiritual battlefield with an enemy dedicated to our destruction.

Satan attacks us through our flesh which is programmed to desire the pleasures of sin and independence. Romans 7:18-20 says, “I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do–this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.”

And in Galatians 5:17-18 we read, “For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.”

Our inherited nature is programmed to enjoy sin, to be self-centered, and to seek independence from authority. However, our new creation is in Christ and is programmed for holy living! Although the old nature has died, the old program is a permanent part of our body that cannot be erased or changed. It can only be overridden. We must learn to reject the old evil impulses and choose to follow the Holy Spirit and our new nature.

Satan attacks us through the world system which brainwashes us to accept its false philosophies. First John 5:19 tells us, “We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.”

We live in an evil environment. The world system is under the control of Satan. He uses illusions, distorted values, and false hope to obtain our allegiance. Peer pressure, fear of rejection, and persecution ensure our compliance. But even though we reside in enemy territory, Christ lives within us, and he exposes the lies and deception of Satan. Jesus is the inextinguishable light that permeates the darkness. He is the King of the universe. He is far greater than Satan who reigns over this doomed kingdom.

But who do we choose to listen to and consequently follow? As we renew our mind with God’s truth we will be set free from a deceptive world system that wants to keep us in bondage. We choose to follow Christ!

Satan attacks us through our flesh and the world system. He also attacks us more directly through evil spirits whenever he has the opportunity. These evil spirits seek to deceive, afflict, and enslave us. Satan has a great hatred for God. But he is powerless against the Almighty Creator.

Satan is constantly looking for ways to harm Christians. He uses fear to induce panic into his victims. His demons manipulate the thoughts of those who are ignorant of God’s truth—luring them into the open, out from under God’s protective covering. They use every possible ploy to snare their prey and keep them in bondage. Then, they systematically go about destroying the helpless believer.

Four Facts about Satan’s Attacks

2. God has placed a hedge of protection around us!

Psalm 34:7 tells us, “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.”

Satan only has access to us within the limits God has set. He is not an equal who rivals God. He is only a rebellious creature whom God is using to fulfill His eternal purposes.

Sometimes God permits Satan access through His hedge of protection to test our faithfulness. When we look at the life of Job, we see an example of Satan working in someone’s life in this way. “The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger” (Job 1:12).

We can also permit Satan access through God’s hedge of protection by our willful disobedience. The book of Ephesians warns us against this kind of behavior. “When angry, do not sin; do not ever let your wrath—your exasperation, your fury or indignation—last until the sun goes down. Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil—give no opportunity to him” (Ephesians 4:26-27).

Any unresolved sin gives Satan an opening to attack us. And by condoning the sin, over time he is even able to establish a beachhead within us. From there he can then launch more attacks to gain even more access to our life. When we tolerate sin in our life we are providing Satan with a key for access through the hedge of protection God has placed around us. We provide Satan the very bullets he can use to injure us.

God is our protector. In Psalm 91:4, we read, “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” It is very dangerous to treat sin lightly. It is the poison our enemy uses for our destruction. But God will protect those who remain faithful.

Four Facts about Satan’s Attacks

3. Temptation is Satan’s bait for destruction but God can use it for our growth.

James 1:13-14 warns us, “When tempted, no one should say, ‘God is tempting me.’ For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.”

Temptation isn’t sin—it only arouses our interest in sin by making it look so attractive. Jesus experienced intense temptation but never gave in. Now He wants to help us to also have victory over temptation. We are to withstand temptation when we are tested so we can grow spiritually.

James 1:2-4 encourages us with these words: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Temptation becomes increasingly strong the longer you wait before turning your back on it. It’s like standing on the peak of a mountain as you are tempted to go down one side into the valley of sin. The further you walk down the one side of the mountain in the direction of the sin, the more difficult it is to climb back up that slope so you may get to the side of holy living. Usually when a person doesn’t resist the initial temptations, they will continue down the slope until they finally have crossed the line into the valley of sin.

For example, assume someone is attracted to unwholesome movies. For them the temptation may be when they are choosing to expose themselves to movie ads. Once they see an appealing ad, it may be just a matter of time until they have rationalized seeing the movie and are then watching it.

It is important to live our lives not so close to the line of sin that it is easy to step over!

Four Facts about Satan’s Attacks

4. We are to live cautiously being aware of Satan’s schemes.

Satan tries to control your perspective, manipulate your thinking, and exploit your foundational desires. He has several different tactics that he uses to prevent Christians from fulfilling their God-given destiny. These are some of the tools of his trade.

• Deception

• Accusation

Put It All In God's Hands!

Put it all in God’s Hands!

• Division

• Doubt

• Distraction

• Temptation

• Difficulties

• Affliction

• Persecution

• Intimidation

• Discouragement

He has many variations for the implementation of each scheme. And it is not unusual to discover a number of these ploys at work simultaneously within the same situation. Subtlety can greatly increase the effectiveness of schemes, scams, and con games. That’s why Satan usually works behind the scenes where his involvement will be undetected.

As Christians, we need to be alert and aware of Satan’s tactics. We must depend on the Holy Spirit to help us discern what Satan is trying to do in our current situation as he attempts to defeat us. Second Thessalonians 3:3 reminds us, “But the LORD is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.”

I wonder if the disruptive lady will ever know how she is allowing Satan to use her for his purposes?

From time to time this one word comes to my attention.  Today I listened to a sermon on the subject.  It was noted and I cannot disagree but that more than 60 percent of the people on a street could not testify to the validity of the word Rapture being in the Bible!  Of course this grabbed my attention,  and seems that I could not prove that the word Rapture is recorded in the Bible either, so I found the following article:  By Mitch DeCanter

Rapture   (Source, just off the internet?)

The rapture is an event that will take place sometime in the near future. Jesus will come in the air, catch up all Christians from the earth, and then return to heaven with the Church. We believe this event will take place before the tribulation.

The teaching of the rapture is most clearly presented by Paul in the first books and Thessalonians and Corinthians: (Notice the writer is using the word “teaching”, but does not prove that the word rapture is in the Bible)

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” (1 Thes. 4:16-18).  (This is what I have always understood to be the RAPTURE)

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality” (1 Cor. 15:51-53).

In these passage Paul informs his readers that living Christians at the time of the rapture will be reunited with those who have died in Christ before them. In 1 Thes. 4:17 the English phrase “caught up” translates from the Greek word  harpazo, which means “to seize upon with force” or “to snatch up.” This word is used 14 times in the Greek New Testament in a variety of ways.

Sometimes the New Testament uses harpazo with the sense of “stealing,” “carrying off,” or “dragging away” (Matthew 12:29; John 10:12). It also can have the meaning of “to lead away forcibly” (John 6:15; 10:28,29; Acts 23:10; Jude 23). However, for our purposes, a third usage is significant. This usage is that of God”s Spirit carrying someone away. We see this usage illustrated in Acts 8:39 where Philip, upon completion of the baptism of the Ethiopian eunuch, is raptured or “caught up” and divinely transported from the desert to the coastal town of Azotus. Similarly, the church will, in a moment of time, be taken from earth to heaven. It is not surprising that contemporary author Hal Lindsey has called this unique event “The Great Snatch.” (1)

People who like to figure these things out claim that “the twinkling of an eye” (1 Corinthians 15:52) is about one-thousandth of a second. When Paul says that all Christians who are alive at the time of the rapture will be changed “in a flash,” he uses the Greek word atomos, from which we get our word “atom.” The rapture will take place in the smallest division of time- one “atom” of time. In a flash, every living follower of Christ will be gone. (2)

There is wide agreement among those who study Bible prophecy that several passages of Scripture teach a future resurrection of deceased church members, a sudden gathering of those who are still alive at that time, and a “catching away” of these people into heaven. This expected “catching away” is usually called the Rapture. Some call it the Rapture of the Church. But while there is wide agreement that the Rapture will happen, there are different opinions about when it will happen in relation to the Tribulation Period. Most experts believe the Rapture will occur before the Tribulation Period. Their belief is called the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Theory. A small minority of experts believe the Rapture will occur at the middle of the Tribulation Period and their belief is called the Mid-Tribulation Rapture Theory. Another group believes the Rapture will occur at the end of the Tribulation period and their belief is called the Post-Tribulation Rapture Theory. (3)

Rapture critics like to claim that the word “rapture” is not located in the Bible. It may not be in the King James, but the word “rapture” is found in the Bible, if you have the Latin Vulgate produced by Jerome in the early 400s. The Vulgate was the main Bible of the medieval Western Church until the Reformation. It continues to this day as the primary Latin translation of the Roman Catholic Church. It was Protestants who introduced the word “rapture” into the English language from the Latin raeptius. It was Jerome’s Vulgate that translated the original Greek verb harpazo used by Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, in 1 Thes. 4:17, which is usually translated into English with the phrase “caught up.” The leading Greek Lexicon says that harpazo means “snatch, seize, i.e., take suddenly and vehemently.” This is the same meaning of the Latin word rapio “to seize, snatch, tear away.” It should not be surprising to anyone, that an English word was developed from the Latin which we use today known as “rapture.” (4)”

Well there we go, the bible can be complex, but I consider it to be written as it is for God’s own intentions.  I believe we need to be learning and receiving the word of God by Spiritual Insight not worry about ……

Farewell to the Rapture by N.T. Wright

            Updated Sep 12, 2011

Farewell to the Rapture (N.T. Wright, Bible Review, August 2001.  Reproduced by permission of the author)

Little did Paul know how his colorful metaphors for Jesus’ second coming would be misunderstood two millennia later.

The American obsession with the second coming of Jesus — especially with distorted interpretations of it — continues unabated.  Seen from my side of the Atlantic, the phenomenal success of the Left Behind books appears puzzling, even bizarre[1].  Few in the U.K. hold the belief on which the popular series of novels is based: that there will be a literal “rapture” in which believers will be snatched up to heaven, leaving empty cars crashing on freeways and kids coming home from school only to find that their parents have been taken to be with Jesus while they have been “left behind.”  This pseudo-theological version of Home Alone has reportedly frightened many children into some kind of (distorted) faith.

This dramatic end-time scenario is based (wrongly, as we shall see) on Paul’s First Letter to the Thessalonians, where he writes: “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of an archangel and the trumpet of God.  The dead in Christ will rise first; then we, who are left alive, will be snatched up with them on clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

What on earth (or in heaven) did Paul mean?

It is Paul who should be credited with creating this scenario.  Jesus himself, as I have argued in various books, never predicted such an event[2].  The gospel passages about “the Son of Man coming on the clouds” (Mark 13:26, 14:62, for example) are about Jesus’ vindication, his “coming” to heaven from earth.  The parables about a returning king or master (for example, Luke 19:11-27) were originally about God returning to Jerusalem, not about Jesus returning to earth.  This, Jesus seemed to believe, was an event within space-time history, not one that would end it forever.

The Ascension of Jesus and the Second Coming are nevertheless vital Christian doctrines[3], and I don’t deny that I believe some future event will result in the personal presence of Jesus within God’s new creation.  This is taught throughout the New Testament outside the Gospels.  But this event won’t in any way resemble the Left Behind account.  Understanding what will happen requires a far more sophisticated cosmology than the one in which “heaven” is somewhere up there in our universe, rather than in a different dimension, a different space-time, altogether.

The New Testament, building on ancient biblical prophecy, envisages that the creator God will remake heaven and earth entirely, affirming the goodness of the old Creation but overcoming its mortality and corruptibility (e.g., Romans 8:18-27; Revelation 21:1; Isaiah 65:17, 66:22).  When that happens, Jesus will appear within the resulting new world (e.g., Colossians 3:4; 1 John 3:2).

Paul’s description of Jesus’ reappearance in 1 Thessalonians 4 is a brightly colored version of what he says in two other passages, 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 and Philippians 3:20-21: At Jesus’ “coming” or “appearing,” those who are still alive will be “changed” or “transformed” so that their mortal bodies will become incorruptible, deathless.  This is all that Paul intends to say in Thessalonians, but here he borrows imagery—from biblical and political sources—to enhance his message.  Little did he know how his rich metaphors would be misunderstood two millennia later.

First, Paul echoes the story of Moses coming down the mountain with the Torah.  The trumpet sounds, a loud voice is heard, and after a long wait Moses comes to see what’s been going on in his absence.

Second, he echoes Daniel 7, in which “the people of the saints of the Most High” (that is, the “one like a son of man”) are vindicated over their pagan enemy by being raised up to sit with God in glory.  This metaphor, applied to Jesus in the Gospels, is now applied to Christians who are suffering persecution.

Third, Paul conjures up images of an emperor visiting a colony or province.  The citizens go out to meet him in open country and then escort him into the city.  Paul’s image of the people “meeting the Lord in the air” should be read with the assumption that the people will immediately turn around and lead the Lord back to the newly remade world.

Paul’s mixed metaphors of trumpets blowing and the living being snatched into heaven to meet the Lord are not to be understood as literal truth, as the Left Behind series suggests, but as a vivid and biblically allusive description of the great transformation of the present world of which he speaks elsewhere.

Paul’s misunderstood metaphors present a challenge for us: How can we reuse biblical imagery, including Paul’s, so as to clarify the truth, not distort it?  And how can we do so, as he did, in such a way as to subvert the political imagery of the dominant and dehumanizing empires of our world?  We might begin by asking, What view of the world is sustained, even legitimized, by the Left Behind ideology?  How might it be confronted and subverted by genuinely biblical thinking?  For a start, is not the Left Behind mentality in thrall to a dualistic view of reality that allows people to pollute God’s world on the grounds that it’s all going to be destroyed soon?  Wouldn’t this be overturned if we recaptured Paul’s wholistic vision of God’s whole creation?                 [1] Tim F. The Fellowship of The Believers

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teachings and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.  All the believers were together and had everything in common.  Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.  And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:35 42 – 47

I have taught and in writing  that we as a nation is in MORAL DECAY and as each day passes I see that condition continue to spiral more and more out of control.  It seems to me that we as a people have lost something.  Yes I have mentioned political correctness and the drive of the leadership both in the churches and government moving further into the arms of “humanism”. FaceBook 1

I am still searching for one answer, however I believe that I will not have success in being able to lump all the elements into a singular group.  Therefore I am looking into God’s word and the beginning of the church AD.  AD, MEANS after the DEATH BURIAL AND RESURECTION OF JESUS CHRIST.

This passage of scripture from Acts 2 clearly makes clear that the believers met and worshiped and fellowship in ONE ACCORD.  This phrase “one accord” sums several points from this passage.  Devoted, apostles’ teachings, fellowship, prayer, awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs, All the believers were together and had everything in common, they gave, sincere hearts, praising God, and being saved.

I just wonder, have us believers been losing out on the “one accord”?

ENTER 2013 WITH SPIRITUAL GROWTH

By:  Mitch DeCanter for Faith Hope and Love Ministries

ENTER 2013 WITH SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Of the most painfull concerns I have had over the past few years, and in particular, the year of 2012; the moral decay I see in the United States and the world.  Moral Decay, takes its drive from many factors, but first I mean by “Moral Decay” the MORALITY of the people.  The question is why does that bother me or should I be concerned?

Social laws, Social control over spiritual organizations and in particular the standard churches and homes.  I can afford to look back over my life and understand that things change, but it seems to me that we are leaving the moral values that I grew up respecting.  In fact, the pain is great in realizing that I spent 20 1/2 years of my life with my wife of defending this great country serving a military career.  It almost seems the years of defending was a waste.  Truly it was not, but it does hurt and I honor our solders now fighting and dying on the distant battle ground.

I have given must time and meditation on all this and keep coming to the same point of why our United States is in what I believe a very sad moral state of affairs.  The first thing I see is that we are being pulled further in the secular direction.  In fact it is Progressive Secular driving forces with very strong leadership in that direction at the very top.

I am giving you some notes with reference to Progressive Secular:

“A secular progressive stands against American Judeo-Christian traditions and principles, instead seeking a more inclusive, equal society. Secular progressives are at odds with traditionalists over issues such as gay marriage and public celebration of Christmas.

Origins

Although the concept is not new, according to the Urban Dictionary, Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly originally coined the label as a derogatory term. He expanded on the theme in his 2006 book, “Culture Warrior.”

Secular

If a secular progressive believes in a God, he tends to keep this belief to himself. In fact, much of the secular progressive agenda is to separate religious beliefs from public policy issues, even demanding religious displays be removed from public property.

Progressive

The secular progressive subscribes to more liberal politics, which may include a share-the-wealth economic system instead of a capitalistic one. More likely, a secular progressive may embrace such issues as abortion rights, gay rights, or affirmative action.

Agenda

Secular progressive battles include transforming Christmas into the more generic “holiday,” to include people who celebrate Jewish or pagan holidays instead, and suing to remove the Ten Commandments from public buildings.

Politically Correct

Because secular progressives preach inclusiveness and equality, this sometimes morphs into a spirit of political correctness that refrains from trying to offend any person or group, sometimes at the cost of truth.

Please note; I am not disheartened and will continue to teach and share the love of Jesus Christ.  I will continue to live my life under the Moral Codes or understandings of right and wrong that I learned as a child.  I will continue this year to share the love of Jesus Christ (God)  with love and caring.

My dream is that we all will decide to bring back the culturally correct morality that God Demands.

May the grace of God give us all wisdom and spiritual strength to look toward Him and not a President…

A YEAR OF SPIRITUAL INTAKE

Spiritual Intake by:  Mitch DeCanter

It was a happy New Year event at 0001hours January 1, 2012, the beginning of a new year, a new time and an endeavor of understanding spiritual meanings.  And now the year is winding down for another Happy New Year Event to the beginnings of the year 2013.  Now looking back with excitement of what God has in store for this old man.  Maybe I am old, in calendar years, but in the prime of my spiritual mind. Put it all in God's Hands! I like to think that as I mature into the Spiritual understandings of God and for sure what is waiting for me, I can dream and savior the knowledge that I am a child of God and that I will be spending an eternity with our Jesus Christ.

“And the testimony is this that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.” 1 John 5:11

Genesis 21:33

Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.    (  pic )

Psalm 90:1-4 Lord, you have been our dwelling place
throughout all generations.

Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

You turn men back to dust,
saying, “Return to dust, O sons of men.”

For a thousand years in your sight
are like a day that has just gone by,
or like a watch in the night.

All these words from the Holy Bible gives me confidence with a spiritual understanding that these years are rapid and will come to an end.  However the ending is only a beginning of a non ending residence with Jesus Christ, which is also with God.  No longer will I have to take the medicines of man’s doctors but will not have to have any medicines at all.  Wow is that not a Spiritual Awaking?

We can all know the Signs & Symptoms of a Spiritual Awakening that I have learned in more depth over the past year of 2012:

“Worldwide, political, economical, environmental and social events are taking place that are changing the way we think, feel and perceive our world as well as relate to one another. Change is in the air, on a collective and an individual level, both of which mirror one another.

A mass spiritual awakening is at hand, as a 26,000-thousand year planetary calendar cycle draws to an end, expanding human consciousness in unprecedented ways. On a collective level, a paradigm shift is under way as we unplug from a fear-based paradigm rooted in separation, control, disempowerment and worthlessness to one of love, integrity and connection with all of life. On an personal level, tremendous inner change is taking place as the higher energy of this shift nudges to let go of anything that is not true to who you are and align with your true Self-the authentic, fearless, creative and unconditionally loving part of you that knows no limitation or separation from creation.

A spiritual awakening is accompanied by great internal change. It may feel like you are losing your mind. In many ways, you are losing your old mind, filled with old baggage in the form of beliefs, concepts, attitudes and emotions from your past that no longer serve you. Although this process creates challenge, it is important to remember that all great change is preceded by a time of turmoil and chaos where the old must break down, before space for the new can be open. Below is a list of typical signs and symptoms of a spiritual awakening that you may be experiencing at this time as well as keys to lighten up the process:” By Natalia Ria

Natalia Ria List six Keys

Your body

Your emotions

Your mind

Your relationship

Your social life

“With the opening of the major energy centers and the release of old energy, the development of intuitive abilities, extra sensitivity, empathy, telepathy and other extrasensory abilities are very common. You may begin to ask yourself questions like ‘who am I?’, ‘why am I here?’, ‘what is my higher purpose?’, ‘what is my relationship to all of life?’ etc. A spiritual awakening prompts a deeper connection to the heart. As a result, you may find yourself becoming more open and vulnerable with the influx of feelings of love and reverence for all of life. You may be drawn to certain practices like meditation or spending more time with nature, children or animals.”  Natalia Ria

I can agree with Natalia, but for the most important is Spiritual Awakening which does indeed have all the Keys that Natalia shares.  However, I am convinced that we do not comprehend the total mass of these until we allow that Holy Spirit that we have within us to become alive.  When I say alive, we must have complete comprehension s or as much as possible the living God that is now residing spiritually within our being.

How does this happen?

Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

Philippians 4:19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:37-39 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

EXPECT CHANGE and PRAY

Very sadly we as a nation of caring and loving people have had to endure a week of sadness and hurt.  Yes, I cannot find the words that say how deeply we have hurt over the school shooting of little children.

I suggest that we all stop listening to the negative news, and turn our minds and attention to healing and helping those most effected to heal.  The question is how do we get our minds off this very difficult time?  Sun On Waves

We that are believers in Jesus Christ and have faith in God must start communicating with God, and that is through PRAYER.  Maybe you will say, Mitch I don’t know how to pray.  My contention is that I am not sure any of us know HOW to pray, but that the scriptures tell us; “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened. “Or what man is there among you, when his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone? “Or if he shall ask for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! (NAS, Matthew 7:7-11).  From this I see that it means communication, so talk.

Believers, Christians we must be about giving the LOVE the FAITH and the HOPE to those that are not knowable of the Holy Spirit in our lives…

My prayer is “God forgive the trespassers and those allowing Satan the freedom to do evil, God don’t allow me to think on the bad things, and I admonish them to be gone.  Bring healing in all that have been victimized. AMEN!

God Bless Us All, and may God grant us the joy of celebrating the birth of His Son Jesus Christ.

Mitch DeCanter shares THE VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS WISHES (MERRY CHRISTMAS…

The historic record of the birth of Christ can be found in Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 2:1-20.  (http://www.christiananswers.net/christmas/ shared the true meaning of Christmas)                                       PRAYER REQUEST

Unlike any other baby, the one born that night in Bethlehem was unique in all of history. He was not created by a human father and mother. He had a heavenly pre-existence (John 1:1-3, 14). He is God, the Son—Creator of the universe (Philippians 2:5-11). This is why Christmas is called the incarnation, a word which means “in the flesh.” In the birth of Jesus, the eternal, all-powerful and all-knowing Creator came to earth in the flesh.

Why would God do such a thing? Why would he come as a baby, instead of appearing in power and majesty? Why make himself a true man and live among us, when he knew full well how terribly he would be treated?

It was LOVE! It was necessary, if you are to be saved!

Watch this exciting NEW on-line video which clearly explains how Jesus Christ was born and why—starting at the very beginning, at the dawn of Creation…

17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

FORGIVEN!  WHY LEAVING FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH + DESTROYED  …. By:  Mitch DeCanter as a testimony and hopefully encouragement to anyone, minister, layman, and just anybody, everyone having been mistreated and made to know you must leave a church family. 20285_10151257364708418_66726715_n It has been more than two years now since I came under fire and condemnation of two elders at First Christian Church of Baldwyn.  I still do not know the reasons, other that it was God moving me out.  I will state the church name but will spare stating the elder’s names.  Now in stating the church name, it is with no intention of labeling or damming that church.  Although the hurt and disappointment of being condemned to the point of anger, and hurt to tears.  Yes, I have suffered for more than two years believing that I would someday get over the hate and pain, it has not happened. A few days ago I happened to end up in a restaurant where the Pastors from several of the local Christian Churches were having some type of gathering over a meal, a fellowship.  Many of these pastors and wives saw me and greeted me with Christian brotherhood handshakes and hugs.  I have to admit it but I had figured that I had been labeled and condemned by all of the association.  By the grace of God I fought my pains and hurts and managed to keep my normal smile on my face, but my heart was broken.  Why the broken heart further in article. Oh by the way, let me just share a couple of points about my wife Jan DeCanter and myself so you will be able to understand just a little bit about me.  Jan and I have been married for more than 47 years.  We have traveled much over the world and US.  Our first career was a 20 ½ years career in the USAF.  I enlisted right out of high school to the purpose of earning a college education.  It took me several years, but I got my degree in Electronics Systems Engineering through night time studies.    Most all of my Air Force I served in leadership positions with responsibilities and authority. We retired from the USAF, and for more than 20 years I worked as a field engineer with different government and commercial originations.  We moved to Mississippi where I opened and ran a successful Professional Photography business for about 20 years. Jan and my life changed on June 16 2010, I faced open heart surgery where it was doubtful that I would make it off the table alive.  There were medical complications that made the odds of survival questionable.   Nevertheless, I was at total peace and expected to visit with Jesus Christ.  In fact, I think I truly wanted to.  I had never been at a perfect peace, even on the battle field.  Truly I was ready to die.  I was totally surprised when they woke me from blackness, I was only awake long enough to realize I was alive.  Later, they brought awake further, and my second thought was, “God, why did you leave me here and why, what do you want me to do?” The battle to heal started.  Soon, because my brain had been blood starved due to blockage, I had lost my ability to remember short term.  My ability to rationalize had been almost totally lost.  In the heart healing process, my brain began to heal and my ability to rationalize started to return.  I could think clearer and clearer. Back to the reason for hurt and pain.  Yes I can hear you Pastors saying, well Mitch it was your fault, you are just!  That is truly what I expected to see from the Pastors that greeted me, but no I received Christian Brotherhood love.  Within just a few moments I realized why I had developed so much pain by being forced out of First Christian Church.  Oh yes, I can hear you thinking that there are other churches.  No when you are 68 years old, Jan and I have found that in North Mississippi few older folks are accepted.  Yes, seems that those that are well of do get accepted faster than the not so well of, but even then the acceptance is with conditions. So First Christian Church Elders, here is where my hurt has been.  Seeing these pastors I realized that I had myself torn out of what I believed was my church home.  Oh yes I knew and was conditioned to believe that Jan and I were just Guest Members but having a church family allowed us to overlook the Guest Membership status. Elders you did not evict me, even thought we left of our own decision.  One of you Elders even attempted to attack me physically.  There was one Elder in that meeting that kept you off.  Yes, you could have hurt me at that time, perhaps killed me, had that one man not kept you off me.  I was in the early weeks of open heart recovery and could not live defending myself.  So Mr. Elder I have been on my face to God many nights at all hours wanting to forgive you and for God to take those memories out of my mind.  I am sorry, I don’t think I will ever be able to totally forget you, and I so badly want to. My testimony is this.  Even though it was Satan using the Elders to attack me, labeling me, and scorning me, it was God that moved me out of your church.  And yes I do forgive you and your young pastor for that night and your mean hearted acts, but for whatever reason I still have hate in my heart for you all.  However, I will treat you with respect when I have to be around you. What hurts the most is that I have had to give us ever being a part of any organized religious organization.  That means Jan and I do not have a church home to be with us when we do die.  I do think we are slowly coming to grips with that, but it hurts and I see the emptiness in my wife. After these pastors greeting me with brotherly love, and my realizing the answer to our prayer of why did this have to happen.  I still don’t have an answer.  However, as I forgive you Elders my wish for you to be condemned to hell is starting to fade. Churches, perhaps my story will not help you to understand why the decline in church members, perhaps some of you should understand that Leaders of Churches should lead rather than practice cultic style of leadership.  My thoughts on that subject will come soon.   My prayer is that none of you reading this will have to go through this type of experience, but I know that many of you will.  My advice is to rely on the hand of God lead you.  I choose to not discuss this with anyone, but a good and sensitive pastor should be able to encourage you.  Prayer and time will heal, just KEEP YOUR FAITH HOPE AND LOVE.  It is important to listen to God.

Spiritually Praying:  Mitch DeCanter

Spiritually It seems to me that some people command attention when they pray and many others do not!  As Faith Hope and Love Ministries was warping up the Tuesday evening meeting, I asked an older black preacher friend if he would pray before we all departed separate directions. It seems that the spirit of God had indeed visited with us and we had received an anointing as we studied from Romans 1.  Indeed Romans 1, the first 7 verses has so much powerful and strong points in reference to the Gospel.  It was very easy to realize that the Apostle Paul spoke with knowledge and power as he introduced himself to the Roman Christians.  It is powerful yet very simple and easy to understand reading. My friend took the time to bring us all together in one accord and cause us all to be very connected in a circle of togetherness.  Everyone was given opportunity to voice any concerns or praises before he started his prayer. My friend’s voice was very tender as he invoked God through Jesus Christ.  Then his voice became more and more excited, as I believe the Holy Spirit began to rise in intensity.  In fact, it became like he was no longer in his body, but his Spirit and God’s Spirit were hugging in brotherhood. I myself felt my skin tingle as my friend invoked anointing on Faith Hope and Love Ministries.  Amen, and indeed this was a Spiritual Man Praying a Spiritual prayer…

Franklin Graham to Newsmax: ‘We Have Turned Our Backs on God’

Read Latest Breaking News from Newsmax.com http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/frankin-graham-billy-obama/2012/11/15/id/464264?s=al&promo_code=10C0E-1#ixzz2COlSzJbM

The Rev. Franklin Graham charged in an exclusive Newsmax TV interview that
America is in a deep economic quagmire because “we have turned our backs on
God.”

“The more we turn our backs on God, the bigger our problem
becomes,” Graham, the son of world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham, tells
Newsmax in a wide-ranging interview. “I didn’t hear any of the candidates say
that we needed to call our nation to prayer. I didn’t hear any of the candidates
say that we needed to ask God for help.

Mr. Graham, my question to you is this, just who are the “we”?  I must assume that you are saying “we” as the people of this great country?  Oh yes of course your are, however I believe that the people you should be speaking to are people who truly care.  Now who are those people?

In my opinion, I believe we should address the spiritually minded folks.  I hope you are not hearing me say the wealthy, highly pay professional ministers in high positions.  But anyone that has the heart of Jesus Christ.  Yes, some of the highly paid professional ministers do have the heart of Jesus Christ, but it is my opinion  most of them are in the ministry for the income and method of earning that income vs the deep want to be spiritual leaders.  Each of us must decide who we follow, and who we allow to be our spiritual leader.

So which leader should we follow, the president of the US, The pope, the Chairman of the Southern Baptist, our local pastor or the person we truly believe and feel is in tune Spiritually with the heart of God.  How about the leader that does his or her best at sharing the love of God.  The ones that triger the spirit in us to become more spiritual?

In any event, I suggest that we have not totally turned our back on God yet, but that we have turned 3/4 th of the way.  That means LEADERSHIP still can get on the right track.  Will we get on the right track?  I don’t know, but I have a leaning of thinking that we may not.  Seems to the odds are against us.

So spiritually led leaders, let us all get our hearts right with God, and do just what God said do and as he did.  Read in 1 John 3 – 5 about the love of God and Jesus Christ and let us all begin to love our fellow-man as He did.

Faith Hope and Love Ministries   Mitch on facebook: facebook.com/mitch.decanter

This past weekend Jan and I took a couple of nights off to go down to Gulfport Mississippi.  Of course you may be thinking what is spiritual about taking a couple of days off and traveling 320 miles to set up the pop up camper and take it easy.  It is spiritual for us to be able to sit side by side and just listen to each other breath.  But then on the other hand, we have time to turn the radio off and just think about Jesus Christ.  As the meditation continues, soon I am into a communication and conversation with the Holy Spirit.  You may ask, just what is the conversation about?  I don’t remember, I just felt the presence of Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit in my being and sharing loving peace.

Upon arrival at the camp ground we were greeted by the most wonderful host. This woman greeted us with warm “welcome smiles” and assisted us in parking the camper.  Saturday afternoon, the host saw me looking at the headlines on the news paper at the paper box.  She said, “Do you need change for the paper”?  My reply was no, but she said come let me see if I have any papers left in the office.  Upon entering, no papers, but she wait! Opened her desk drawer and found the correct change and then went out and got the paper for me.   She did this not because I am older, but because she sincerely cared.

One of the most uplifting spiritual events:  My friend, and associate professional photographer friend had wanted me to meet her Uncle Bo.  Wow, my friend had asked me to minister to her uncle Bo, because he had open heart surgery and she felt he was not doing well.  He did spend some time in the hospice house.  Therefore in our minds Uncle Bo was near death and depressed.  My ministry was to encourage and minister to his spiritual welfare.  Therefore, I was there to give.

However, it turned out to be Uncle Bo that gave.  Here is how this whole trip ended up being a Spiritual Blessing to Mitch.  Jan and I met up with my friend and her cousin at an art festival.  Being very clogged with many visitors, Jan and I was amazed that our friend found us.  However, cell phones seem to help.  Very soon we got to meet Uncle Bo’s wife.  Wow, what a wonderful and sweat lady.  Uncle Bo was working and I would not get to meet him until later that night.  The Art Fair was indeed very uplifting to me, but large groups of people make me very tired.

The evening comes, and Jan and I had gone back to camp and rested.  In fact we warmed up some soup that we brought from home and had a bowel full. Then we got the text

ExactSeekmessage asking if we wanted to meet them at a place for dinner.  I knew that to meet Uncle Bo, we would have to go.  So since the place was near the camp, we went on and arranged the seating.  While waiting, got the text that they had just arrived.  So being a person that I am, I went out to the front to greet them and show then the table.

As they climbed the stairs to the dining room, I recognized the one I expected to be Uncle Bo.  With all the skills of being a warm and approachable person, I reached out my hand and said, “This has got to be Uncle Bo”.  The spiritual impact was immediate as Uncle Bo grabbed my hand and with a big warm strong smile, said this has got to be Mitch.  Immediately there was a bond, a spiritual bond.

Over diner, the conversation was enlighten and very rewarding to me.   It was very spiritually uplifting to converse with a person with simpler beliefs and experiences.  Yes I went expecting to minister, however it was me receiving the spiritual enrichment.

And it is again, with meeting several on this trip that were truly uplifted by our face and warmth of Jesus Christ from our being.  Faith Hope and Love Ministries is all about that one point.  We must allow the love of Jesus Christ to flow out of our face and eyes and hearts freely.

Life in Vietnam-God is Blessing

I have been back in Vietnam for almost a month now.  Finally getting settled in and getting some new English students lined up.  I have started teaching Conversational English, how to speak the English language correctly.

It is a pleasure to teach an eager student, and they really want to learn. I have one male nurse age 28, a lady doctor age 25, another lady nurse, a computer technician, and 2 office employees.  There is a lot of laughter and fun as we discuss various subjects in class. We have a super time.

But, the biggest thrill of all is the eagerness of the small children I meet and their desire to talk  with me.  I will go out in front of my room about 5 pm in the afternoon, and before long there will be 10-15 children ranging in age of 2 or 3, up to young teens, and a few moms and dads.

We do some magic tricks, teach them a few English words, and share the love of Jesus with them.

Vietnamese people show a lot of respect for their elders and many of them consider me a grandfather type.

There was a youth meeting last Saturday night at church.  Seven young people trusted Jesus as Saviour.  Sunday morning there was 14 baptized, including an 84 year old grandma.  I could only understand a few words she said, but you could see and feel the joy in her heart and she gave her testimony.

Please keep me in your prayers.  There are some spiritual and financial needs that I am praying about.  I will been starting a free English class soon, using the Bible as a text book.

I have to be cautious because of the socialist government system here.  I am not supposed to preach or teach the Bible in a church because I am American.  But, God is able to take care of me.

I remember a wise man told me the first time I came to be ‘wise as a serpent but harmless as a dove.

If you have questions about life here, or would like to leave a comment you are welcome to do so.

God Bless,

Reuben

Christians and spiritual people, listen, this is a very dangerous thing when governments take it upon their own self to overstep the constitutional rights of citizens. To me this tyrannical effort only speaks to a much larger ill. That being that democracy is distorted by the people we hire to lead.  Where is our energy being wasted?  Please read the following news article and take some action if no more that just being in prayer:

(NaturalNews) The surveillance society continues to expand across America, with  those who refuse to go along subject to recriminations and  reprisals.

That’s what’s happening to students at John Jay High School  and Anson Jones Middle School in San Antonio whose parents refuse to have their  children tracked by school officials.

According to reports, the school  districts implemented new rules Oct. 1 that require each student to attend  classes with photo ID cards embedded with a radio-frequency identification  (RFID) chip, so officials are able to track every pupil’s location. Educators  have said the requirement is necessary to stem rampant truancy, which is, in  turn, taking a huge chunk out of the school’s funding. If the program is  eventually judged to be effective, officials plan to roll it out to all 112  schools in the district, covering some 100,000 students.

Kids who won’t  wear the ID trackers – which are supposed to be carried in pockets or around the  neck – complain they are being targeted by teachers and are not permitted to  take part in certain school functions. Some have even said they have been  refused entrance to common areas like libraries and cafeterias.

Mark  of the beast?

One student, Andrea Hernandez, a sophomore at John Jay,  said in an interview that educators have turned a deaf ear to her pleas to  respect her privacy and have told her she can’t participate in school elections  if she doesn’t comply with the tracking program (apparently the Constitution  really isn’t taught in many U.S. schools these days).

In an  interview with Salon, Hernandez said subjecting herself to such continual  monitoring was like being branded with “the mark of the beast,” a Biblical  reference to the Book of Revelations.

Later, in a separate interview  published by WorldNetDaily, Hernandez said the school  responded by threatening her with the loss of her right to vote in the school’s  homecoming king and queen contest for disobeying.

“I had a teacher tell  me I would not be allowed to vote because I did not have the proper voter ID,”  Hernandez told WND. “I had my old student ID card which they originally told us  would be good for the entire four years we were in school. He said I needed the  new ID with the chip in order to vote.”

Upon refusing to wear the  RFID-chipped ID, the web paper said Deputy Superintendent Ray Galindo fired off  a statement to her parents: “We are simply asking your daughter to wear an ID  bad as every other student and adult on the Jay campus is asked to  do.”

If she still refused; he went on, later repercussions would be  stiffer than merely revoking her rights to vote in homecoming contests once the  school decides to make the monitoring a mandatory attendance rule.

“I  urge you to accept this solution so that your child’s instructional program will  not be affected. As we discussed, there will be consequences for refusal to wear  an ID card as we begin to move forward with full implementation,” Galindo  wrote.

Steve Hernandez, Andrea’s father, told WND that the school seemed  somewhat willing to work with his daughter, but went on to say the family is  simply unwilling to “agree to stop criticizing the program” and endorse it  publicly.

“I told him that was unacceptable because it would imply an  endorsement of the district’s policy and my daughter and I should not have to  give up our constitutional rights to speak out against a program that we feel is  wrong,” Mr. Hernandez said.

Profiting from privacy  destruction

But there’s money in tracking and privacy violation, you  see – at least in this case.

The Northside Independent School District is  set to collect north of $2 million in state funding to revise its poor  attendance records; the RFID program will cost only about a quarter of that  amount, with another $136,000 in annual maintenance costs.

But that money  will likely not offset damages from unintended privacy violations on the back  end: Heather Fazio, of Texans for Accountable Government, told WND she  filed a Freedom of Information Act request regarding the program, for  which she paid a $30 filing fee, and received the names and addresses of every  student in the district.

“Using this information along with an RFID  reader means a predator could use this information to determine if the student  is at home and then track them wherever they go. These chips are always  broadcasting so anyone with a reader can track them anywhere,” she  said.

A spokeswoman for the American Civil Liberties Union told  the local San Antonio Express-News earlier this year her organization  expects to file a legal challenge to the tracking program.

But Rebecca  Robertson, who is with a local branch of the organization said that, “the ACLU  of Texas will not be able to represent you or your daughter in this matter,”  saying the case did not meet the group’s  criteria.

Welcome to Faith Hope and Love Ministries!

Faith Hope and Love Ministries is a Christian Fellowship of Believers assembling together weekly where we greet each other in Christian Love, we share events and concerns in our lives, we collect prayer concerns from all that want to share, we then take those prayers to God through Jesus Christ.  We join together in hand to hand brother / sister fellowship voicing our prayers.  Often we will greet and share Christian Hugs, handshakes, and special hand on the back love jesters.  After all this, while in a Christian Spiritual excitement we share a meal or snacks.  While relaxing with the food and in Christian Loving Fellowship, we enjoy being in the presence of each other.

At a Spiritual Led moment, Bro. Mitch begins a Bible Study.  At our inception, we studied The Acts looking for the ways and effective ways that God Led the Leaders of the first Churches conduct and teach their Assemblies, the Church.  Now, Bro. Mitch or guest speakers will teach preaches with the entire circle of Believers taking part, God Led and Directed lessons.  Most often, we become so spiritually excited that we forget the time.   Our most recent study has been on the Books of Psalms

Our mission and purpose is to learn to share Jesus Christ to everybody we meet on a daily basics.  We want to Touch Lives by allowing the LOVE of Jesus Christ radiate out of our faces and eyes and smiles so strongly that the person departs with a warm loving smile on their faces.  And if the Holy Spirit allows us to witness to the person, we take time out to share Jesus Christ is simple terms, FAITH HOPE AND LOVE.  This web site is designed to share through the electronic media.

SPECIAL NOTE:  OUR BROTHER AND FRIEND HAS BEEN CALLED BACK TO NORTH VIETNAM ON THE MISSION FIELD.  REUBEN CLARK IS ASKING THAT IF YOU FEEL LED TO SPONSOR, OR CONTRIBUTE TO HIS FUNDS FOR THIS TRIP, PLEASE DO AS GOD LEADS:  YOU MAY CONTRIBUTE TO HIS PAY PAL ACCOUNT:  GO TO HTTP://WWW..PAYPAL.COM  AND UNDER “TRANSFER” SEND MONEY TO REUBEN’S PAYPAL ACCOUNT rjc38photo@yahoo.com.  THANK YOU AND MAY GOD BLESS!

DEALING WITH DEATH

By Mitch DeCanter

Death seems to us to be the end.  But is it the end? Our loved one, say our mother is alive and sharing with us, the smiles, the giving, the hugs, the enjoyment and fellowship as Mom in her warm breathing talking, laughing, crying, and just being alive.   Suddenly Mom is no longer breathing, her body grows cold, she is taken to a funeral home where she is prepared for burial and her final resting place.  Everyone gathers and someone speaks over her body, everybody cries and hurts so very badly.   We go through a process of morning, as time easies the pain and hurt.  But for some reason we still feel the empty of Mom not being with us alive. On special days, the hurt and misses come roaring back.

Death to most of us, especially if it is someone we are close to, just does not seem fair.  Therefore, what is DEATH?

Death being a separation of body and soul
Nature of man Conscious life after death…

Death

may be simply defined as the termination of life

It is represented under a variety of aspects in Scripture:

  1. “The dust shall return to the earth as it was” (Eccl. 12:7).
  2. “Thou takest away their breath, they die” (Ps. 104:29).
  3. It is the dissolution of “our earthly house of this tabernacle” (2 Cor. 5:1); the “putting off this tabernacle” (2 Pet. 1:13, 14).
  4. Being “unclothed” (2 Cor. 5:3, 4).
  5. “Falling on sleep” (Ps. 76:5Jer. 51:39Acts 13:362 Pet. 3:9.
  6. “I go whence I shall not return” (Job 10:21); “Make me to know mine end” (Ps. 39:4); “to depart” (Phil. 1:23).

The grave is represented as “the gates of death” (Job 38:17Ps. 9:13107:18). The gloomy silence of the grave is spoken of under the figure of the “shadow of death” (Jer. 2:6).

Death is the effect of sin (Hebrews 2:14), and not a “debt of nature.” It is but once (9:27), universal (Gen. 3:19), necessary (Luke 2:28-30). Jesus has by his own death taken away its sting for all his followers (1 Cor. 15:55-57).

There is a spiritual death in trespasses and sins, i.e., the death of the soul under the power of sin (Rom. 8:6Eph. 2:1, 3Col. 2:13).

The “second death” (Rev. 2:11) is the everlasting perdition of the wicked (Rev. 21:8), and “second” in respect to natural or temporal death.

THE DEATH OF CHRIST is the procuring cause incidentally of all the blessings men enjoy on earth. But specially it is the procuring cause of the actual salvation of all his people, together with all the means that lead thereto. It does not make their salvation merely possible, but certain (Matt. 18:11Rom. 5:102 Cor. 5:21Gal. 1:43:13Eph. 1:72:16Rom. 8:32-35).

Justin Martyr: The resurrection is a resurrection of the flesh which died. For the spirit dies not; the soul is in the body, and without a soul it cannot live. The body, when the soul forsakes it, is not. For the body is the house of the soul; and the soul the house of the spirit. These three, in all those who cherish a sincere hope and unquestioning faith in God, will be saved.” (Justin Martyr, Chapter X.—The Body Saved, and Will Therefore Rise)

177 AD Athenagoras the Athenian, Chapter XVI—Analogy of Death and Sleep, and Consequent Argument for the Resurrection. And let no one think it strange that we call by the name of life a continuance of being which is interrupted by death and corruption; but let him consider rather that this word has not one meaning only, nor is there only one measure of continuance, because the nature also of the things that continue is not one. For if each of the things that continue has its continuance according to its peculiar nature, neither in the case of those who are wholly incorruptible and immortal shall we find the continuance like ours, because the natures of superior beings do not take the level of such as are inferior; nor in men is it proper to look for a continuance invariable and unchangeable; in as much as the former are from the first created immortal, and continue to exist without end by the

simple will of their Maker, and men, in respect of the soul, have from their first origin an unchangeable continuance, but in respect of the body obtain immortality by means of change. This is what is meant by the doctrine of the resurrection; and, looking to this, we both await the dissolution of the body, as the sequel to a life of want and corruption, and after this we hope for a continuance with immortality, not putting either our death on a level with the death of the irrational animals, or the continuance of man with the continuance of immortals, lest we should unawares in this way put human nature and life on a level with things with which it is not proper to compare them. It ought not, therefore, to excite dissatisfaction, if some inequality appears to exist in regard to the duration of men; nor, because the separation of the soul from the members of the body and the dissolution of its parts interrupts the continuity of life, must we therefore despair of the resurrection. For although the relaxation of the senses and of the physical powers, which naturally takes place in sleep, seems to interrupt the sensational life when men sleep at equal intervals of time, and, as it were, come back to life again, yet we do not refuse to call it life; and for this reason, I suppose, some call sleep the brother of death, not as deriving their origin from the same ancestors and fathers, but because those who are dead and those who sleep are subject to similar states, as regards at least the stillness and the absence of all sense of the present or the past, or rather of existence itself and their own life. If, therefore, we do not refuse to call by the name of life the life of men full of such inequality from birth to dissolution, and interrupted by all those things which we have before mentioned, neither ought we to despair of the life succeeding to dissolution, such as involves the resurrection, although for a time it is interrupted by the separation of the soul from the body.

The Journey of the Soul
By Rev. Simeon Stefanidakis

Death: The Opening of the Way

“Death is the only event which we can predict with absolute certainty, and yet it is the event about which the majority of human beings refuse to think at all until faced with the imminent and personal issue. People face death in many different ways; some bring to the adventure a feeling of self-pity, and are so occupied with what they have to leave behind, what is about to end for them, and the relinquishing of all they have gathered in life, that the true significance of the inevitable future fails to arrest their attention. Others face it with courage, making the best of what may not be evaded, and look up into the face of death with a gallant gesture because there is nothing else they can do . . . Still others refuse altogether to consider the possibility; they hypnotize themselves into a condition wherein the thought of death is refused all lodgment in their consciousness, and they will not consider its possibility, so that when it comes, it catches them unawares; they are left helpless and unable to do more than simply die.”

From Bethlehem to Calvary by Alice A. Bailey

Thus spoke The Tibetan, through the mediumship of Alice A. Bailey. He also referred to death as The Great Adventure. And, indeed, it is. The words above are so true, and they speak to us all. How we actually experience death depends, to quite a large degree, upon how we perceive this great adventure while living upon the Earth plane.

What is death? How do we experience death? Does it hurt? How quickly does it happen? What about life after death; do we survive? If so, in what capacity? Do we meet loved ones who passed before, or do we lose all sense of personal identity and recognition? What is the after-life like? These are just a few of the questions surrounding death which people have asked and pondered over since the beginning of earthly time.

In following the journey of the soul, death truly becomes a great adventure in which the way is opened for the soul to pass from one realm of life into another. It marks a point of transition. How we each get to that ubiquitous state of transition varies with circumstances. What we experience after we cross that elusive threshold, known as death, also varies with the individual. But the actual experience; the actual crossing over the threshold, between one realm of life and another, is amazingly quite similar for most people.

Life, in many ways, is a series of deaths. We are always moving from one experience to another. The point is: we are always moving! Thus it is with death. The point is: we are always living! Death, then, becomes a very natural part of life. We move from one room into another. Depending upon which side of the doorway we happen to be in comparison to the one crossing the threshold, we label that transition either death or birth. Please note this last statement. Death and birth are basically the same process. Both involve passing through the same doorway. The only difference is the direction of movement. What is death on the Earth plane is birth in the Spirit world. And birth onto the Earth plane can be considered death in the Spirit world.

In these next few lessons, we shall discuss the first of several death processes that the soul experiences between one incarnation and another. Yes, physical death is but one of many deaths which we encounter as we move from one earthly life to another. We could settle, once and for all, the question of death by saying that death does not exist; that there is only life; that death is but one of countless experiences found in life. But that would be quite a lot to ask you to accept, without some further instruction.

Therefore, let us look at this wonderfully great adventure, known as death. Before we examine the process of physical death, we need to look at the question of survival. Nobody can deny the existence of death. The vital question surrounding death is: do we survive the experience; if so, how? Once we understand that we do survive death, we can then look at the process of death itself and what follows.

The Death Process: Preliminary Remarks

Regardless of how one approaches death, the process itself is quite similar for most people. If death comes suddenly and the person does not believe in any form of after-life, then the conscious mind is most likely not prepared for the experience, and there could be a period of confusion after death. Thus, the importance of understanding death, before we meet it face-to-face.

If, on the other hand, death comes upon the individual gradually, let us say after a lengthy period of illness, then the personality is given an opportunity to prepare for the experience. This can be very helpful for a person who has never thought about death, or who does not believe in any form of after-life. This period of preparation can last for a few days, up to several years, depending upon:

  • The needs of the spirit. What did the incarnating personality plan for this period of earthly transition? For most people, the general time and condition of death are planned prior to coming onto the Earth plane.
  • The resistance of the personality to let go of the form aspect of life. This is a very powerful force; one which may cause a person to linger upon the Earth plane well after his or her planned time of death. If the person is strongly body-oriented, he or she will consider that letting go of the body means letting go of life. We are all subject to the attractive powers of the Earth plane, and we tend to cling to the body with great tenacity.

Finally, with modern-day technology, there is the issue of life support systems. Who makes the decision for whom concerning death? Is the spirit ready to leave, while family members insist on keeping the body alive? How does this affect the spirit? What is the definition of death, and who decides that all criteria for that definition have been met? These are complex questions which run right to the roots of what we are attempting to teach in these lessons.

Regardless of influences that may cause one to cling to the body, physical deterioration and other factors will eventually bring about permanent separation from the earthly form, and death will ensue.

“Definition of Spiritual Death”

From , former About.com Guide

Definition:

Spiritual Death is the separation of the soul (spirit) from God.

More Complete: Spiritual death is “a state of being in which the human soul is separated from God and has not been enlivened by his Spirit.”

In the religious context, this is often considered to be of greater significance than the physical death.

One biblical passage used to explain spiritual death is Ephesians 4:18 as a state of being “alienated from the life of God.”

Contrast Definition Physical Death is the separation of the soul (spirit) from the body.

My summary of all this:  Death is about the body giving up the Soul.  The body becomes “remains” and the Soul moves to another location.  Christians (Believers in Jesus Christ) Soul goes back to God where it came from anyway.  The fear that most have is not the where, but the how and speed of the transition, leaving our earthly physical body, and the trip.  For me I don’t fear, just hope that I will be able to enjoy.  However, I believe the trip is so rapid that we will not have any time to think as we do in this physical body.

Tuesday night as the Faith Hope and Love Ministries met as a group of believers, we grew into a Praise Team, United in Praising God Through Jesus Christ.  What was the key, the motivating action?  Short answer “In One Accord” and Spiritually connected as one assembly Worshiping Jesus Christ, with and united Love one for the other and Jesus Christ.

We were studying about the Books of Psalms, and this night we were drawn to Psalm 47, A Psalm “For the director of music Of the Sons of Korah. a psalm.  We literally started out by Clapping our hands in PRAISE to God.  “How awesome is the Lord Most High, the great King over all the earth!”

We began to sing, literally one of our members sang “Sing praises to God, sing praises to music.  All of our hearts and souls were truly melted together in one accord in praising God, where we received the most warm blessings…

Unrest – Does it Have To Be?  Short answer, it does not have to be unrest, however Satan is still having his way with the earth.  I contend, that we will never have rest and peace as we want, because Satan will continue to cause trouble.  He (Satan) will continue to stop all the people’s from being in one accord.

There are many religions, each believes that theirs are the only answers, but I contend that Jesus Christ must return before that can happen.

There is one religion that I cannot agree with.  However, I have to accept the fact that their religion is their right, or so that is the way we believe in the United States.  I was just recently sent this link which labels the President of the United States as a Muslin.  You make your own decision,

*Watch it now before it gets pulled from the internet!*
Unrest is here world wide, and seems it will continue.

I am so thankful, first of all to God for his blessings, and to brothers and sisters in Christ for your prayers.

It has been an exciting  journey to spend a year on the mission field in an Asian country. There were struggles and testings, but God always provided and took care of all our needs while we were there.  He blessed me with many friends while there and I had the joy of sharing the love of Jesus with many people.

Now!  I am preparing to return as soon as I have enough money for the trip.  I am so excited!  Sure, I will miss family and loved ones here, but  all are in God’s care and I trust Him completely.

Please continue to pray that I would be obedient to the Holy Spirit.  I do want God’s will for my life.  Pray that I would have the wisdom to discern the spirits, as there are many false ones.  The people there are very superstitious when it comes to religion and worship many false gods.  But, they are polite and will listen when we talk about God and the Bible.

Pray for wisdom in dealing with the government officials.  They are very suspicious and I am not supposed to speak or teach in a church without their permission.

Also, if you tell someone about me and my work, for safety sake, please do not post where I am online.

God bless you dear people.  Though I have not met many of you, I still love you in the Lord and appreciate you.  I encourage you to stay true to the Lord and share the love of Jesus with a lost and dying world.

Blessings,

Reuben

This web site is designed to share through the electronic media
